Sai Pallavi is stepping into a completely new avatar. The actress plays a police officer as Nithya Reddy for the first time in her career in OM, and the makers have released a special character glimpse to introduce her role.

A Cop Like Never Before

The glimpse shows Sai Pallavi in several shades of her character. In one moment she’s a smiling young officer, proudly in uniform and receiving flowers and a salute. In the next, she’s in combat fatigues in a dense forest, leading night operations with her team.

The glimpse also shows her in intense, serious moods, cracking down in a tense office room and facing a violent mob. And in one emotional close-up, she is seen with tears in her eyes, hinting at a strong personal story behind the uniform.

It’s a big shift from the girl-next-door roles that made her famous, and the glimpse suggests her character has plenty of layers.

Into the Forest

Much of the glimpse is set in thick forests, with night raids, police jeeps and trucks loaded with logs. That fits right in with the film’s full title, Om – Chapter 1: Udhiram: The Blood Wood, which points to a story set around forests and the wood trade.

A Huge Star Cast

OM brings together a powerful cast.

  • Dhanush
  • Mammootty
  • Sai Pallavi
  • Sreeleela

It’s the first time Dhanush and Mammootty are sharing the screen, which makes OM one of the most exciting multi-star films in Tamil cinema.

The Amaran Reunion

OM is written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who made the blockbuster Amaran with Sivakarthikeyan. Sai Pallavi’s performance in Amaran as Indhu Rebecca Varghese won huge praise, and her reunion with the director has raised expectations even higher.

Sai Abhyankkar composes the music. The film is produced by Wunderbar Films in association with RTake Studios.

A Different Year for Sai Pallavi

The police role comes in a big year for Sai Pallavi. She plays Sita in Ramayana, which releases on November 5, and now she’s showing a completely different side with OM.

From a goddess to a gritty cop, the range is exactly what her fans love about he
